OUR MINISTERS

_

        Greetings,

We are James and Petie McLean, members of the ministerial staff of First Christian Church, Glasgow, Kentucky.  We are part of a congregation where EVERY MEMBER IS A MINISTER.  This is a shared ministry of which we are proud to be a part.

The Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) was founded during early American frontier days with the restoration of the Biblical Christian and a call for Christian unity as its guiding star.  Folks in those days wanted a down-to-earth religion to help them cope with the hard frontier life.  They felt they could read and interpret the Bible for themselves and build faith through their own understanding of God's word.  At First Christian Church we continue that tradition today.  We are a church community that seeks to live on Biblical guides for a church:
bullet the Lordship of Jesus,
bullet the centrality of the Bible in preaching and teaching,
bullet the shared ministry of believers who pass through the waters of baptism, and
bullet gather at the Community Table weekly as faithful disciples who share in the ministry of Jesus Christ,
bullet We try to help folks grow and mature in their understanding, guided by scripture and by the traditions of faith.
First Christian Church, Glasgow, has been a vital witness to the community, by first being located on the Square, downtown, and then moving to the hill on North Race Street in 1968.  This congregation is made up of professional people, farmers, business people, laborers and a wide variety of persons who love this community and want to grow in their own faith and also find meaningful ways to serve others in the name and spirit of Jesus Christ.

At First Christian Church, we want to discover who you are, too!  We believe every person is a unique individual with gifts, talents and the potential to make a positive difference in the world.  If you are interested in becoming a Christian by faith or in finding a church home, let us invite you to join us at First Christian: "A caring church with a rich past, a vital present, and an exciting future".

If you have a personal need or would like to contact one of the ministers, please feel free to call upon either one, or you may contact them by e-mail at the following addresses:
